T-55's
THE T-55?S were formed in late 2013 and the band is part of the Umeå Hardcore Punk scene.
After the end of guitarist Karl’s previous band AC4 he found 19-year old drummer Elias and they decided to start a new band. Karl and singer Lisa first met when they were drinking their way to a Motörhead show. She had never been in a band before, but she had the right attitude. Lisa braught Erik to a rehearsal and he was the first bass player who could keep up with the rest of the band. After a few weeks together the band played their first show at a benefit event for illegal immigrants and recorded their first EPs. Even before the records came out, the BBC Radio 1 Punk Show started playing several of the tracks.
The band’s debut 12? EP was released in February 2014 on JanML Records, Germany. The title song “Power Up” was written by Karl after his visit to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. This was followed by a 7? split EP with fellow Swedish punk band Mary’s Kids (ex-Hellacopters, Mensen) on Strange Magic / AM Records in the US and Japan later the same year.
